John F. Kennedy once shared a thoughtful insight in his 1961 address to the Canadian parliament: “The burdens of leadership are often heavy, and leadership itself can be a lonely pursuit.” This resonates with many of us, reminding us that leadership can sometimes feel isolating.
A moment when I realised this saying wasn't quite right was during my time with a coach. They were someone outside of my situation, a supportive person I could talk to and share my thoughts with, and who asked the right questions to help me figure things out.
These times benefited my mental well-being and personal and professional life. They allow me to leave thoughts behind and be fully present in the present moment.
